story: meet Khalid from Somalia. He lives in Sha’abiya #13 since 20 years. His home is unlivable, filled with mice and cockroaches were he was embarresd to invite me in. Around the block, a man lives who raises 12 members of his family, pays 10,000AED annually, and can not paint it white, while his kids run between the shaded homes on trash, and exposed to some hazardous materials such as asbestos, broken glass/mirrors etc.
vision: you can make Khalids home (24°19’10.26”N/54°31’54.26”E) a cleaner place by bring the issue of cleanliness to Abu Dhabi municipality, and to protect the children to run around without getting cut, or fill their lungs with dirt. You can donate directly your extra rug (Floor condition is horrible), get some clean bed sheets/mattresses, utensils, plastic chairs, some floor lamps. Anything that will make you feel good. Spread the word.
